So you don't like the guy... I freakin' get it.

It's okay to have your opinion. I don't mind people having their own opinions. That's being yourself. Being an individual. Fine. Whatever. But when you have an incredibly young, easily influenced mind in the form of your son, I think you should let him form his own opinion. It's hard for him to do that when you are constantly staying negative things about public figures you don't like... Say for example... the President. Okay, fine. You don't like him. We get it. You think he is on television too much. You think he wants all of the attention on him all of the time. You think he should be like all of the former presidents and stay away from the media, away from the public eye (at least as much as is possible being the President). Fine. That's fine. Think what you want. You're allowed.

But I have to say, him being in the public eye, talking to the media, doing these things... That doesn't make him less effective as President. Sure, he may want people to think he is just a "regular Joe"... What's wrong with that? He WAS just a regular guy. Then he got voted into the Senate and then into the Presidency. Well, damn. I guess since he is President now, he should just shun all things normal. Ask for his water to be sparkling and served only with fresh strawberries. What the hell?

Your son got pissed off because the President gave a little speech before the Baseball All-Star game tonight--why? Because of your influence. But then the previous four presidents gave little speeches too, and he was okay with that... So, what? If former President Bush gives a speech before a game, that's okay? But not current President Obama?

Jesus. Just get over it.
